Chicken Curry
Ingredients:
Onions (Big
size) - 2
Grated dry
coconut - 2 cups
Coriander
seeds (Dhaniya) - 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds
(Jeera) - 1 tbsp
White sesame
seeds (Til) - 2 tbsp
Poppy seeds
(Khas Khas) - 1 tbsp
Garlic
cloves - 15-20
Chicken
masala - 3 tbsp
Turmeric
powder - 2-3 tsp
Salt as per
your taste
Coriander
for garnishing (Optional)
Procedure:
• In a kadai, slightly fry grated
coconut on medium flame. Fry till it becomes brown.
• Now add 2-3 tbsp oil and fry the
coriander seeds, poppy seeds and white sesame seeds on medium flame till it
becomes brown.
• Now add 2-3 tbsp oil and fry onion
on medium flame until it becomes brown.
• Now add the fried onion and garlic
cloves in a mixer and grind it once, then add fried coconut, poppy seeds,
coriander seeds and sesame seeds and grind it well. Add little bit of water and
grind it well into a paste.
• Now add oil in a kadai and pour
the paste into it and cook well till it becomes thick.
• After that add chicken masala and
cook for another 5-6 mins.
• In a cooker, add chicken,then add
water as per your requirement, add 2-3 tsp turmeric powder and salt as per your
taste. Cook on medium flame till 3-4 whistles.
*If you are
using boneless chicken then cook till 3 whistles.
*If you are
using boneless chicken and leg piece then cook till 4 whistles.
• Now add the chicken and chicken
stock into masala and mix well. Add 2-3 cups of water and add salt as per your
taste.
*But
remember that we have added salt while cooking chicken.
• Now mix the gravy well and boil it
on medium flame for about 15-20 mins.
*Keep the
curry consistency as per your requirement.
